CLIFF & IVY RELEASE NEW ALBUM!

Last month's album release of "Angel Eyes" from Cliff & Ivy
was a clear indication that the Anchorage-based goth duo have absolutely no signs of slowing down whatsoever when it comes to their endless sounds of gothic beauty and rock 'n' roll music combined. I had the pleasure of asking them both what they enjoyed about the album and this is what they had to say..
IVY: I liked all parts of it, I feel it is one of our most creative works, but my favorite part was listening to Angels Eyes as mastered by Maor Appelbaum for the first time. It sounds like a major label release.
CLIFF: Writing and recording the songs in Alaska, then sending the tracks to Los Angeles to work with legendary keyboardist and producer Paul Roessler (Screamers, Nina Hagen, 45 Grave, Twisted Roots and more), and with the great drummer Tom Coyne, who plays with deathrock legends 45 Grave and Kommunity FK. We are lucky to work with them again!
I had to ask if there were any names which had influenced Cliff & Ivy and their musical journey and this is what they had to say..
IVY: I was inspired by Siouxsie and the Banshees, David Bowie, and Killing Joke. Those were my main jams and still are. I've always liked poetry and creative writing, especially using unexpected intuitive methods of composing works.
CLIFF: Influenced also by Siouxsie and the Banshees, Killing Joke, The Ramones and the early 80s hardcore scene. No Wave is important. Being isolated in the dark and cold in Alaska's winters, I have a northern feeling - the land is a big influence. The way it makes me feel.
As many of you know, im a big supporter of Youth and their musical journies.. so i had to ask what type of encouraging words they would say to any youth out there struggling with confidence. It put a smile on my face to hear what they had to say..
IVY: Be yourself, because you have a place in this world. Even though you may feel alone you are not. You will find your people even if you feel far from them now. Go into yourself and build your preferences from within. Then the time will come for you to do some major self expression.
CLIFF: Trust yourself and your own judgement. Find what you are passionate about. Believe in your own visions. Even if others are telling you there's something wrong about it. Follow your dreams. The people who are really your friends will stay. Others who are not will not stay. Sometimes you have to be on a journey alone for a while.
What can we expect from Cliff & Ivy in the not-so-distant future?
IVY: Another album is in the works with a lot finished already for 2027. Stay tuned for more cool collaborations with death-rockers. It will be like an extension of Angels Eyes and I am so excited to share this new one too!
CLIFF: We are also working on other different projects (in addition to Cliff and Ivy) for 2027.
As Cliff & Ivy continue to create such phenomenal music, they always seem to impress me with each new project they come out with so im definitely excited for their new projects!!
